"How Lovely To Be A Woman With A Figure Thats Round Not Flat" Review Of Figuresque

Gotta love Ann Margaret in Bye Bye Birdie singing about her curves! That song is what comes to mind every time I think of one of my new Preferred Retailers Figuresque! They are all about celebrating being a curvy woman and doing it with style in amazing clothes from great dresses, tops, pants, even all the way down to your undies, and I love it! Last week I received my first review piece from Figuresque and I am so in lust with it I have already worn it twice! Candace and I knew we needed to shoot this beautiful garden dress in someplace amazing that would really make the colors pop and I think we totally nailed it in a great subdivision with beautiful landscaping in Meridian, Idaho.

When I first saw the Sexy Floral Bloom Dress In Pink on the Figuresque site I knew that I wanted to review this piece. The colors are absolutely beautiful and fun and great for summer and I love a tube dress with  a structured bodice. I had them send me this dress in a size 3x and it fits like a glove, very true to size based on their measurement guide. If you are in-between sizes you could even consider going a size up since it comes with a nice sash that ties at the waist for a perfect fit. I choose not to include the sash in this look but would consider it on different days or could maybe even use it as an accessory in a different way, scarf or headband possibly?

I was pleasantly surprised with the texture and weight of this dress. It is a wonderful lightweight cotton with  a nice structured lining on the inside to keep you from pulling a Marilyn and showing off your frilly panties.  The heart-shaped Sweetheart bust is lovely and very flattering and the structure keeps “the girls” nicely in place. The length on this dress is perfect I feel I could really wear it anywhere. I have worn it on the weekend like in the photos above with bare legs and a nice wedge, but have also worn it to work with my raspberry cardi and raspberry flats that picked up off the colors in the flowers of the dress very nicely. I also love that in the coloring of this dress there are hints of brown and black allowing for many shoe options. I think you could even pair this dress with a black legging and jacket in the cooler months and still look colorful and fierce!

Overall I give this dress a perfect 10 and recommend it to any curvy diva for the perfect summer dress for any occasion!

"I Found Myself In Wonderland"

My photographer Candace Sweet has a fantastic backyard/outdoor studio. It is beautiful back there and she has tons of unique items to pose around and the ambiance is very whimsical. I love it back there. There are great fences, wooden furniture, a meditation garden and my very favorite is this little gardening shed she has that looks like an Alice In Wonderland type of door. The peasant dress in this look always makes me feel a bit like Alice and whimsical as well and I couldn’t resist doing some shots in her back yard using this great setting!

I picked up this great teal Mossimo dress at Target a couple summers ago, and it was actually in the straight sizes (sometimes you can be amazed with what fits!) Its a size XL but its very stretchy in the waist band. It is a great linen material and has a lining on the inside. Only problem is this dress wrinkles super easy and I HATE IRONING. I have worn this dress to work, to summer weddings and just running around town. It is a great piece and one of my favorites. I paired it with my Shoe Dazzle Nancy heels and my peace sign earings and kept it simple!

"I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush" Review Of Vitamin C Clothing & Plush Boutique!

As I mentioned last week I received a great dress courtesy for Vitamin C Clothing and Plush Boutique! This weekend Candace and I hit the streets and got some great shoots. The dress that was made for me was a bit of a variation of the original design which was made to accentuate my curves and flatter my body in a better way. It is amazing the Vitamin C Clothing would do something like this making the clothes to flatter my shape rather than expecting my shape to have to fit the clothes and I really appreciate that designer Chloe Faith Harper understands that somethings simple little changes can make a dress flattering on a size 14 or a size 22 like myself. Major Kudos for this one!

First off let me say not only does this dress flatter my body with the enhancements they made for a larger size but it also fits like a glove! When I saw the original design I instantly fell in love with the colors and was so pleased how they looked in real life. This dress is vibrant and fun and I think really suits my skin color and hair. I also loved the vintage classic silhouette and special details like the darting in the breasts,  the perfect cut sleeves for a plus size arm and the AMAZING ruffle detail.  The material on this dress is heavy and structured but not uncomfortable by any means, it is also clearly made well, and what I would call made with love. I honestly don’t have any complaints about this dress. Way to hit it out of the park Vitamin C Clothing!

Now even though I was working with a phenomenal designer this dress was courtesy of Plush Boutique. Plush is one of my new preferred vendors and someone I will be working with on a regular basis. Their owner Wendy is amazing and sweet and has a real eye for how to dress certain body types and  personalities. She new that this dress would be wonderful for me and she guessed right.  Plush Boutique carries a good number of designer plus size brands such as Monif C, IGIGI, Qristyl Frazier,and Jibri, as well as great shoes and accessories. Online shopping is easy and if you need anything specific talk to Wendy she will work with you to fit your needs! If you live in GA you should check them out and definitely get on their mailing list as they have quite a few events and parties for the store.  Plush included the jewelry I am wearing in this look knowing how great it would go with the dress. I absolutely love the orange necklace and earings and actually can wear them with a lot of me looks since I do wear quite a big orange. I had a hard time pairing shoes with this one since it is so colorful so I went with my Shoe Dazzle Nancy Heels which have an orange insoles and left it at that.
