Be Social!
Hey Curvy Chicks!
Tis the season to look fabulous! Whether you are in the US or across the pond the time is now to stay on trend and add some holiday glitz and glamor. With the help of SimplyBe and their guide to enjoying the Holidays in style they help take you from your Christmas Eve soiree to a night on the town for New Years and all the special moments in between!
Christmas Eve

While some of us stay home in our pjs on Christmas Eve tucking in children and doing last minute preparations for the next morning, there are some of you the will be getting your party on enjoying a moment of glam! Whether it be at a family party or out living it up with friends who feel like family you must be ready to dazzle all of those around you and what better way then taking your look to a smart and sophisticated place! SimplyBe recommends a mid-length dress in a neutral color (look out for those champagne and cream colored pieces as they are always a classy choice) with a special detail that will make you stand out and shine just like the star on top of the Christmas Tree! Play up the elegance of your look with a Bardot inspired top knot and a fresh neutral face with a red lip to take this glam look up a notch without sacrificing taste.
Christmas Day

I know for me Christmas Day is a balancing act when it comes to style. With new technology appearing under the trees of those we love a photo op is inevitable and you want to be remembered looking fabulous but still comfortable enough to put away another amazing home cooked dinner. The solution, opt for a classic outfit with a cut that allows you to eat drink and be merry without having to loosen any belts, buttons or ties. A great empire or A-line dress will provide this type of coverage and comfort barely skimming your belly. Find one with some special detail that either sparkles or shines or a great neck detail in the collar that will bring the attention to your beautiful face. Since your morning might be a bit fast paced tie your hair back in a low bun, or adorn yourself with a sparkly headband. Add a pink glossy lip for the camera and avoid any lipstick stains on your wine glass this Christmas Day!
Boxing Day

Boxing day is all about getting a little R&R! Time to put in your favorite Holiday Classic and get cozy on the couch with the one you love. While you are eating leftovers and watching Ralphie adorn his iconic bunny suit find comfort without letting your style suffer. Texture is your friend with chunky knits, fluffy faux fur trims, and leather being big news this season. A combination of these texture details in an over-sized sweater and a great pair of leggings, jeggings or skinny jeans and you’ve got a look that is perfect for your day! Laid back hair and natural makeup is a must on Boxing Day and a great reprieve from all the eyeliner, glitter and dramatic lips you’ve been playing with during the Christmas festivities.
New Year’s Eve

Your last hoorah of the season before residing yourself to all of those pesky resolutions and what better way to celebrate the end of 2012 in decadence with some no hold barred glam and fabulosity! Whether you are heading to several different clubs or watering holes or sticking to one great house party until the wee hours of the morning you will look great counting down the seconds to 2013 in a dazzling dress. Right now the 1920′s is a huge influence on party fashion and its easy to understand why with all of the fringe, beading, sequins and embellished trim! These are great details to your party look and provide a focal point that will get you noticed. Top your look off with a fancy headpiece to play off some Hollywood Glamour inspired hair! New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse for some seriously dramatic makeup. Keep your look smoldering with a smoky eye and some red lips but make sure to take some extra care to make your look last all night with waterproof mascara and eyeliner, a 24-hour base with primer to help it go the distance, and long-lasting non-smudge lipstick for those midnight kisses! I recommend carrying a handbag or clutch that suits your look and will be your saving grace for any mishaps. Include a clear nail polish to fix a stop a run in your tights, lipstick to reapply if necessary, a compact mirror to check yourself, and a pair of comfortable fold up flats to pop on for after hours at your favorite pre-hangover diner with friends! A great night is sure to be had ringing in the New Year taking these tips to heart.
Make it through another year of holidays with these great trendy looks appropriate for any fashionista who wants to look as festive as the moments she is celebrating!
xoxo
