What I Wore: “Like LL I’m Doin’ It & Doin’ It & Doin’ It Well”

Be Social!

Hi My Babeilicious Friends!

I have a confession to make. 90% of the clothes I currently have in my closet are from 2011 or older. Yep that’s right I’m broke as a joke and aside from some review items here and there I haven’t really been able to do much shopping over the last couple of years. While this isn’t ideal, especially for a fashion blogger, it has challenged me to try new things, wear my clothes in different ways and explore what I can do with items I currently have. This pretty much sums up today’s look which features a little bit of this and that for a casual yet fun and edgy style.

Wearing short shorts can be tricky especially as a curvy chick. First off you have to feel confident enough to wear them and feel good about how your body looks in them. Then its a matter of getting the right fit in the waist so they aren’t giving you that awful butt gap, but aren’t so tight that your tummy is hanging over. Challenging isn’t it? While I really couldn’t care less about my clothing being flattering on my curves I do care about a good fit that makes me feel good about myself. These shorts fit almost perfectly but are a tiny bit tighter in the waist then I would like effecting my look. I remedied this by wearing a loose fitting button up top to keep the look casual but with a tiny bit of sophistication as well.

This top from Foxcroft is really lovely, is true to size, and has a nice trim on the collar and sleeves that I really like. I also really appreciate the hi-low nature of the shirt and absolutely love how long the back is. My only complaint is that the sleeves are really long on this top, but since I don’t like long sleeves anyway and always end up pushing my sleeves up this worked out fine.

Stiletto Siren In FoxcroftThese shoes used to be really tight and uncomfortable hence why I wore them so infrequently I completely forgot I even owned them. Today when I slipped them on (really they look so fab I couldn’t resist) they actually seemed to fit better and were actually comfortable to wear as well.

What I Wore: “If The Curve Of You Was Curved On Me”

Be Social!

Hi Friends!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Last Saturday night my love and I went out on a much needed date and I decided to snap a couple photos before we left to share my outfit with you all. I apologize for the photos as I took them with my phone and there seems to be quite a bit of shadows from the trees in the photos. But it is all about the outfit afterall, isn’t it?

A few weeks back my friends at LucieLu sent me this lovely lace cardi and I have been dying to wear it in the right look and show it all to you.  When I received the Isabell Lace Cardi from LucieLu I was so incredibly pleased. In a size 3X it fits me like a dream and is very figure flattering with the vertical seaming running down the back with a large pleat at the back of the waist giving it some shape. This cardi is a great lightweight piece perfect for Spring and makes a great layering item in the wardrobe. It can easily bring some extra luxury and class to any look but is still fashion forward and modern at the same time. Overall I really love this lace cardi. High five LucieLu!

For the look I paired my LucieLu lace cardi with one of my favorite strappy tanks from City Chic. I love the detail on the bust and the bright red is absolutely divine. The spaghetti straps are adjustable which is a nice edition and the elastic at the bottom of the waist gives the flowy blouse the structure it needs. I paired the top with my  Torrid Stiletto Ankle Zip Skinnies and a pair of animal print flats, as well as some dangle gold black and silver earrings to add a little sass to the look!

What I Wore: “You’re From The 70′s, But I’m A 90′s Bitch”

Be Social!

Hi Friends!

It’s getting late in the day and I’ve been running further and further behind it seems, so I’m just gonna get to the point and keep it short and sweet just like an ice cream sundae with a cherry on top!

Did I mention my red lipstick  from Maybelline is called Very Cherry? How about that!

For today’s post I wanted to show you all an outfit that I am loving right now as the weather is getting hot hot hot and summer is on the horizon! I’m not sure if its the big circular earrings, the button up tank tied at the waist, or the whole outfit in general but this look had me feeling a little bit nostalgic for the 90′s which is never a bad thing in my book. In fact anytime 90′s styles make a come back I feel completely at home hence the title of this post.

Big Circular Earrings: Gift From Mom/White Sheer Button Up Tank: Wet Seal (Gifted/Reviewed Here)/ Animal Print High-Low Dress: Figuresque (Gifted)/ Wedges: Torrid

I received a package in the mail a week or so ago from my lovely friends at Figuresque full of some really cute pieces that I have been super excited to incorporate into my wardrobe and share with you all. This dress was the first item that stuck out to me, and how could it not? I am a bit animal print obsessed after all! I received the Animal Print High-Low Dress in a size 3X and it fits great, is a nice poly blend and is really comfortable and easy to wear with elastic at the top of the bust and at the waist. The high-low cut of the skirt is also interesting and a bit different then most mullet dresses I have seen as of late since this one goes up on the side instead of  up in the front, which I find a lot more flattering. The extra flare to the skirt as it elongates and a similar detail on the bust makes this dress more stylish and gives it that extra va-va-va-voom for a saucy look. I feel like the cut of this dress enhances my curves and shows off my shape in a way that I absolutely love. Overall this dress is a great piece that I am happy to have in my wardrobe and will probably wear quite a bit this summer. For only $37.95 I would totally recommend this dress to all of my curvy chicks who want to feel a little wild, sexy and breezy as things heat up!

Plus Size Outfit Post

I originally had planned on adding a hat to this look but it just wasn’t working with my hair. As you can probably tell I am at a point where I need a haircut and thank goodness I have one booked for next week. Taking away the hat made me change things up a bit but I am pretty happy with the look I ended up with. I don’t have a lot of clothing with gold or brass details as I typically lean more towards silver so I was really happy that I had another look that I could wear my gold studded collar button up that I reviewed a few weeks ago from WetSeal. This shirt tied up nicely around my waist which helped showcase my smallest curve and the sheer fabric made me able to cover up a little bit without covering the print completely. I finished the look with my favorite Torrid Wedges from seasons ago, and some black and gold circular earrings my Mom gave me in my stocking at Christmas. Overall I was feeling pretty hot in this look no matter what the decade!

What I Wore: “I Love Lucy”

Be Social!

Hi Friends!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. Sorry for not posting yesterday, I had a huge math test that I was totally not prepared for and spent my whole day (literally like 7 hours) cramming and frying my brain. Like my Twaffle always says, I am far too pretty to do math. Really though those of you who are good with numbers are also beautiful but incredibly lucky that you can rock the math skills, I just don’t have that part of the brain.

Since today I am back to my normal self I knew I wanted to put together an outfit of the day, and showcase the wonderful dress my friends at IGIGI sent me last month. This dress will be perfect work wear but since I am currently working from home and playing house, for real I’ve become quite domestic, this dress makes for the perfect retro housewife look. Once I put the look together I realized I was totally serving some Lucille Ball, Ricky I Wanna Be In The Show Realness and since Lucy is one of my style icons and favorite red heads I decided to play it up!

Plus Size I Love Lucy

Come on what girl can resist a polk-a-dot? I know I can’t, they are seriously a weakness for me. When I first saw this dress on the site I was smitten, and when it arrived in the mail and I slipped this baby on I knew it was LOVE! Everything about this dress is perfection. It fits my body like a glove in a size 18/20 is a great length for a classy look and has some great features that make it ideal for the curvy curves. This dress feels rich and high quality (duh it’s IGIGI) and is actually really comfortable as well. It can appear like a top and a skirt with the A-line cut and separation of print under the breast and also camouflages a tummy which is an extra plus. The polk-a-dot trim on the cuffs  is really flexible and can actually fold down for a complete black sleeve which is wonderful and the 3/4 sleeves are perfect for the office or for strutting around the house feeling retro glam like i did today. Overall this dress is an A++++ and I highly recommend it to my plus girls no matter what walk of life you live. Would I steer you wrong?

IGIGI Doris Dress

DSC_1580

This dress came with a sash that is a different black and white print than the polk-a-dots which I definitely find interesting and cute  but as you know I am not really into sashes. I opted to highlight my waist in this dress with a heart shaped Torrid corset belt from seasons ago to play up the fun of the look and give it a little youthful feeling. I also chose to wear my magenta suede heels also from Torrid to give the look a pop of color, and to pull in my pink lips.  I added a pearl necklace and earrings to pay homage to the pinup nature of the look as well. There is no makeup breakdown today but the pink lips, heavy cat eye liner and my pompadour completed the look for me.

What do you think about the Doris 2-In-1 Dress from IGIGI and they way I styled it? Who is one of your style icons?

What I Wore: “Something In The Way You Move”

Be Social!

Hi Friends!

Today I am totally feeling myself, yep it may sound conceited but I am loving everything about my look. Like honestly I could die looking like this and I would be 100% good with it. I woke up this morning and got ready to go pick up my Twaffle to run a few errands and work from her shop today and decided I wanted to bring as much drama to my hair and makeup as possible and pair it with a hip and edgy outfit including all of my favorite things.

Today on my face I have the following:

Fatshion OOTD

White Studded Collar Sleeveless Shirt: WetSeal (Gifted)/Black Ribbed Tank: Old Navy/

Cross Leggings: Torrid/Animal Print Flats: Maurices

I am absolutely in love with this white button up hi-low blouse my lovely friends at Wet Seal sent me! It is junior sizing, but I’m a size 22  and it fits great in a 3X. I absolutely love the gold studded details, the low coverage in the back (perfect for wearing with leggings) and the sheer light weight fabric.

Plus Size Outfit Of The Day

While I absolutely love the idea of these cross print leggings from Torrid, I do have to admit they are slightly flawed. The fit is great in a size 3, but the inside of the fabric is white and when thick thighs are in them stretching them out they get faded and you can see the white coming through. Great concept but room for improvement.

Stiletto Siren Accessories

Animal Print Cross Earrings: Betsey Johnson/Pink Unicorn Necklace: Claire’s

I am not much of an accessory junkie but today I knew I wanted to mix prints with the black and white crosses and animal print in my shoes and earrings. My shoes are totally old and worn and not photograph friendly so no close-ups (Sorry) Since I said bye-bye to my pink hair last week I purchased this pink unicorn necklace to hold onto to a touch of pink and have been wearing it with everything. It’s fab, fun and totally matches my favorite lipstick!

I’m totally a great mood, loving my look and loving my life today!
