What I Wore: “If You Should Ever Leave Me, Well Life Will Still Go On Believe Me”

Hey Curvy Chicks!

Ok, I will be the first to admit that today I feel like some rock n roll/RainbowBrite/teenage rebellion version of a Sister-wife LOL.  I think its the height of my pompadour and how it ended up setting itself today in a combination with the maxi dress which is a length I don’t typically venture to since I’m such a shorty. Whatever this look really is though, I am loving it and that’s what counts! Today is a pretty basic day for me, running some errands, hanging around the house working on a few things and I decided it was a perfect day to show off my new maxi dress sent to me by my lovely friends at IGIGI and embrace the style and the level of ease and comfort that comes along with it!

Spike Earrings: Fuego/Octopus Necklace: Gift From Mom/Antonia Dress In Lagoon Blue: IGIGI (Gifted)/

Bangles: Torrid/Animal Print Flats: Maurices

I have been dying to get my hands on a  designer maxi dress perfect for Summer and when I saw the Antonia Dress in Lagoon Blue on the IGIGI site I knew I had found just what I was looking for. I instantly was attracted the fact that this dress was intended to hit the woman wearing it just above the ankle which made me feel like it would actually be a great maxi length for my 5’4″ frame. I WAS RIGHT! I love being right. While this dress would be fabulous just above the ankle on a taller woman it hits right at the floor on me making it perfect to wear with flats, which I never imagined I would be able to do. The second thing that caught my eye about this dress was the beautiful color. The Lagoon Blue is so majestic, bright and summery I thought it would  be a perfect addition to my wardrobe to brighten things up with the ability to dress it up or dress it down. The quality of this dress is exactly what I have come to expect from IGIGI with high quality fabrics and special attention to detail.  It is so soft and comfortable and is also so flattering with the short sleeves, v-neck, and of course the stunning princess knot that is the perfect addition to the waistline.  Proof again that IGIGI is always bringing pieces designed with our curves in mind. I received the dress in a size 18/20 after following the size charts and it fits very true to size and honestly like a dream. I don’t think I could ask for a better dress for my shape and for the look I was after. To make the look a little bit more me I accessorized with some spike earrings, my octopus necklace, bangles and animal print peep toe flats. Such a fun look for me today thanks to IGIGI!

What I Wore: “You Dis And Wanna Kiss? Now That’s Absurd”

Hey Curvy Chicks!

I had a really great day today that included sleeping until Noon, celebrating that my amazing girlfriend got a 100% on her last final of the semester giving her straight A’s (for real she worked her ass off so everyone give her some congrats) and spending the day with one of my oldest friends Jackie. I listened to some great old school hip hop, talking about how I was back in the day, felt energized and happy as a girl could be and had a awesome day.  I also actually got myself all beautified today and decided that I might as well snap a couple photos with my iPhone and share my outfit in an absolute quickie fashion. HERE YOU GO!

What I Wore: “You Can Have Whatever You Like”

Hey Curvy Chicks!

One trend I have always been interested in is androgyny. I personally am a huge fan of women who can appear ambiguous in gender and pulling it off from time to time myself has always been a fashion aspiration from me. When I decided to start rocking a full on pompadour I knew this would give me even more of an opportunity to embrace the andro trend but I wanted to do it in a truly classic way and I figured what better way then with a great tuxedo jacket.  I have been looking for the perfect plus size white tuxedo jacket for what seems like months now and I was so excited when I finally found the ideal match from Bespoke  I knew I had to get my paws on it, so I was thrilled when I received this jacket in my most recent review package from my friends at SimplyBe!

Earrings: Torrid (Gifted)/Bespoke White Tuxedo Jacket: SimplyBe (Gifted)/Sequin Tank Top: SWAK Designs (Gifted)/Pleather Leggings: Torrid/Hot Pink Sole Black Pumps: Shoe Dazzle

I feel in love with this Bespoke White Tuxedo Jacket on the site, then again when I saw it on the hanger, and once again but to the extreme when I finally tried it on! I recieved it in a size 20 and found it fit perfectly true to size based on my measurements. It buttons comfortably to enhance my curves by hugging the smallest part of my waist but also looks nice left open for a more casual look. The materials are high quality just like other items I have received from the Bespoke line before and you can tell this piece was made with consideration to quality and with curves in mind. The small details from the perfect collar width to the 3 button sleeve as well as the overall style of this pieces makes this piece perfect for any curvy girls wardrobe. For this look I wanted to wear it just like I would if I was going out and hitting the town while serving some serious fierce style. I paired the white tuxedo jacket with my black sequin tank I recieved a few seasons back from Sealed With A Kiss Designs and since the tank top has some extra length in the back to cover the hiney felt I could wear it with my black pleather leggings i’ve had for it seems like years from Torrid. I finished off the look with a pair of dangly earrings and a pair of black pumps from Shoe Dazzle. I felt like the earrings and shoes added some feminine quality to this look and I absolutely love that these pumps have hot pink soles that match my hair so well!

Loving this look and feeling SASSY!

What are you wearing today? Would you rock a white tuxedo jacket or another androgynous piece?

What I Wore: “Somebody That I Used To Know”

Hey Curvy Chicks!

Over the last almost 3 years of blogging here at Stiletto Siren: A Life & Style Blog with Curves I have done a complete style 180 due to lifestyle changes. I have gone from donning dresses and heels on a daily basis proving that I know how to rock some work wear to now working from home and allowing my style to become more relaxed, as well as more true to my rock n roll lovin, edgy self while having no one to answer to but myself. I have really found a happy place of wearing things based on nothing more then the fact that I simply LOVE THE STYLE!  When I saw the dress from today’s look on the IGIGI site I knew that while it was a bit closer  to my conservative style of yesteryear it had some details that made me completely 100% positive that it was something that still felt like my style in the here and now and that it HAD TO BE MINE!

Armani Exchange Sunnies: Nordstrom’s Rack (Gifted)/Large Pink Stud Earrings: Lushae Jewelry (Gifted)/Sonia Dress in Merlot: IGIGI (Gifted)/Grey Dollhouse Heels with Studded Flower: Ross

I instantly fell in love with The Sonia Dress in Merlot when I came across it on the IGIGI site due to in large part the fabulous print on the sleeves. It’s a great floral when you get close but from a distance it also looks like it might be jeweled which I think makes it fantastic all the more. I also was so enamored with the color choices of the deep Merlot and the pops of fuschia, purples and greys on the sleeve and knew it would be such a fun piece to showcase with my pink locks.  When the dress was sent to me by my lovely friends at IGIGI I came across even more reasons to fall in some serious love with this piece from the wider v-neck that honesty fit “the girls” in a fierce way and the fantastic rouching on the booty that helped me showcase one of my favorite assets! I also found myself super impressed with the double layering on the flutter sleeves that was very flattering and comfortable on my arms, and the lovely length that was stylish but also made this dress something I could work if I had an important meeting and needed to be slightly conservative. This dress sent to me in a size 18/20 based on my bust size on the size charts also fit me perfectly and was extremely comfortable as well. My only qualm with this dress is honestly that it doesn’t play well with my muffin top but that’s really something that some shapewear could easily take care of.  Overall the Sonia Dress in Merlot is another slammin IGIGI piece that fits perfectly in my wardrobe and my life.

What I Wore: “Go Your Own Way”

Hey Curvy Chicks!

It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL out today and I am loving soaking up some vitamin D in the sunshine. I realized I haven’t posted an outfit in like a month and thats not cool so today even though I am certainly not the fliest version of myself I decided that I was going to capture what I am wearing while loving the weather and taking the first opportunity to go sleeveless this Spring.

Now some curvy girls and some skinny girls too hate their arms. While it may not be my favorite body part (you know I LOVE my booty) I don’t really have a problem with my thick chubby arms. I know their are some out there who think if it can swing in the wind you should cover it up but I say FUCK THAT! Pardon my French but its time to stop being polite and starting getting real (circa Real World 1992) on Stiletto Siren!

Anyhoo I wanted to rock a sleeveless dress and decided to take the opportunity to also try out the high low trend with this lovely animal print dress sent to me by my lovely friends at Simply Be! This dress is super comfortable and loose fitting but is a lovely light and airy fabric. This dress normally comes with a brown metallic belt (I have somehow misplaced mine in my mess of a closet) that is thicker then the one I chose to pair it with to cinch in the waist. I decied to just add a black skinny belt that could be for the most part hidden creating a separation between my chest and the rest of me. I felt comfortable and floaty in the best way possible and know that this is a dress I will easily be able to turn to as it heats up this summer.
