OOTD: A Little Sparkle For A Night On The Town

Saturday night two of my very best friends and I went out for a night on the town. I hadn’t been out in a while and with the cold that had been keeping down for the count for the last couple of week and some added stress in life I needed to blow off some steam. Been a bit broke lately and my shopping has been put on hold for the most part but I wanted to wear something new so I hit Target and was lucky enough to find this cute grey oversized tank top from their plus sized section on clearance for $6! It had some sequins which gave it just enough sparkle to bring it up to a notch for the club. I paired it with my black pleather leggings from Torrid, a black nylon cami from New York & Co., my black bomber jacket from Yours Clothing and some simple black wedges from Payless.

This outfit was comfortable and stylish. I love the loose-fitting top with the tight leggings that showcased my curves but still left something to the imagination. I danced the night away with great friends while feeling hot and sexy!

My apologies for the lack of posts this week. I have come down with a really unpleasant cold and have been using the energy I do have for work and school. I took the day off yesterday hoping to kick this cold in the ass but not no such luck, feeling even worse today. I am going to take the rest of the week off of posting but the second I feel better I will be posting the much anticipated Vlog to let you all know what i’ve been up to and to make up for the time off.

Now that I’ve got that rant out of my system we can get back to business.

There has been some great size positive mojo going around and I wanted to let you know about something awesome!

Vogue Italia has launched their new website and it has a section titled Vogue Curvy. Gabi from Young, Fat & Fabulous and Sakina from Saks In The City have been put on as vloggers for the site and this is a great day for plus sized fashionista’s everywhere! I couldn’t think of two fat fashion bloggers more deserving so make sure you go check them out and congratulate them!

I remember a couple seasons back on America’s Next Top Model when one of the bitchier girls Renee stated to one of her plus sized contestants that “No plus sized model would ever be on the cover of Vogue”. Well Renee this may not be a cover but it is one step closer to the dream and to you eating your words.

Way to go Vogue Italia and Gabi and Sakina!

Nightline’s Is It Ok To Be Fat

So I was a little too busy and honestly still too irritated at that bitch Meme Roth to post about this yesterday but I did tune in to Nightline Tuesday night to watch my girls Marianne Kirby and Crystal Renn take on that hating bitch and was pleased with how they presented themselves and stood up to her jackassery.
I’m not going to go into detail about the debate, so if you want to see what all happened, and I recommend watching it since it is going to be the buzz around the fat-o-sphere for a while, I have posted the link above, and there are move videos on Nightline’s website.

There are two things though that I do want to touch on real quick though. First off the fact that Meme Roth accused those who practice body acceptance and in her warped mind every fat person ever of being discriminatory of her for being thin. Sorry Meme but it’s not your weight that makes me discriminate against your privileged self, i could give a rip about your skinny ass and your 4 miles a day on 1300 calorie lifestyle, it’s simply that you are a fucking mega bitch that makes me discriminate against you. Sorry but I just don’t like assholes. Seriously though, my problem really is that I can’t respect someone who wants to hurt other people and judges them without knowing them based entirely on their appearance, and then crusades on the ideas that somehow my weight affects anyone but myself. You’re a poison to the world and that affects way more people than my 270 pound body does.

The other thing I wanted to touch on is the question at hand and the title of the segment “Is It Ok To Be Fat?” and my answer to that is whose business is it of yours anyway and who are you to make that determination? For every fattie out there the reason why we are fat is different, we all have different set points, different medical histories, different past dieting patterns, and different self-image. I am fat and fabulous and not willing to play into the weight loss industry that has done nothing but hurt me and make me more unhealthy than I would be if I had never dieted in the first place. As a fat and proud woman I am healthier then I have ever been, have a clean bill of health from my doctor and more importantly have a self-image and mental health that trumps anything that a smaller waist or dress size could ever give me. I love who I am, love my body, and love my life and thats all that matters. Stop judging others and focus on your own life, your own body and reach for your own happiness. I am fat and if you don’t like it, and yes by you I mean cuntzilla and any other haters out there, then you can kiss my fat ass!
