Be My Valentine: Frill Heart Dress & Update On City Chic Australia Contest!

Be Social!

Today’s Be My Valentine item is The Frill Heart Dress from City Chic

City Chic’s new US Site has so many great dresses but this one is totally one of my favorites for our lovey dovey holiday that is only one week out!  I would definitly recommend this dress for any girl wanting to look cute, pretty, feminie and absolutely adorable with the heart pattern and subtle sweetheart neckline. The 3 tiered ruffles is so cute and fun also and the black and white coloring of the heart pattern allows this dress to be taken to an edgier level as well. For me I would rock this dress with some black tights, or maybe a fishnet if I was feeling daring and either a great Mary Jane style heel or ever a pair of black low top converse. It could be really cute punked out that way. I could also see myself wearing it anytime with a great pair of pumps and a bright cardigan.

Check out everything City Chic has to offer as they have some great stuff right now, more of which you will be seeing me review soon. I gurantee if you follow their size charts you wont be dissapointed! Also at City Chic plus size fashion, new arrivals. "Can You Turn My Black Roses Red" Review Of City Chic

Be Social!

One of the first plus fashion related events I ever reported on while having my show on The Curve Network was when City Chic had just made a huge splash having the first plus fashion show at Australia’s Fashion week. I remember looking at the models and the gorgeous styles they were wearing and was seriously in awe that there was such an amazing brand out there that was really fulfilling what the curvy community was longing for in trends, quality, and overall wearability. Well its been a little over a year now and City Chic has made even more strides in the fashions they offer, as had the plus fashion world, and my world as a blogger. Imagine how ecstatic I was when City Chic contacted me a couple of weeks ago and asked me to review a piece from their current collection! I was so thrilled I immediately hopped on the site and probably spent a good couple of hours trying to decide between so many great pieces. Finally after much debate I decided on the Rosey Spot Tier Dress

Now first off let me say I expected to have to wait quite a while for this piece to come but was pleasantly surprised when I received it only about a week and half after ordering it. I seriously squealed “shut the front door!” when my fed ex guy handed me the package and told me that I was getting something all the way from the Outback! I tore it open right then and there and the first thing I noticed was how great the quality of this dress is. The material was nice and heavy, but not too heavy that it would be too hot to wear. I checked out the stitching and the extra backing on each tier and  was very impressed with the all around quality of the dress. The ladies in my office were also completely anxious to see it on as well, since it looked so cute even after being shipped a zillion miles and demanded that I wear it to the office the next day, so of course I did!

Now let me tell you this dress is amazing and has probably become one of my new favorite pieces in my closet. It fits really wonderfully in a size XL and isn’t too tight in any places. It is very flattering on the curves with the strapless curved bodice , fitted waist and tiers that start at the hip line hitting just above the knee on my 5’4″ frame. This dress also has great movement with those tiers and while wearing it I can’t help but feel a little sassy! The print of the dress is also really fantastic and cute with the small-scale polka dots and the red roses scattered throughout. I have a serious need now to buy a sexy red heel to go with this dress simply because it would be just too perfect! I also love how I can wear this dress like I did in the above photos with my great sparrow necklace from Torrid and my new cute Payless black heels and could easily go out for a hot date or to dance the night away, but can also dress it down a bit with a cardigan and a more conventional heel for the office. The pattern gives it a little pop that keep its fun for work wear and I love that!  I also think I can easily translate this dress to fall fashions with a legging or textured tight, a pair of booties and a seriously chic blazer. Way to hit this one out of the park City Chic!

Sarah from Return to Sender is also reviewing a City Chic piece today so make sure you head over there and check hers out as well. These pieces are too good to miss, and there is so much more that you must check out everything City Chic has to offer, also keep up to date on all the happenings including the future launch of their US Webstore by following them on Facebook and Twitter, tell them Stiletto sent ya!
