“You Unleash My Episodes, Crack My Moral Code”

Today I am feeling a bit moody… I guess  it must be Wednesday! In all seriousness though I don’t know if it is the constant downpour of doom and gloom weather, or the fact that we are nearing month end or that I may be hormonally stuffed right now or what but something has me feeling a bit  irrational and all over the place mentally. I’m not sad or mad or anything and i’m sure I will pull myself out of it but eh this happens sometimes. Its times like these where I take my mood out on my clothes and embrace the blacks and greys in my closet, this also happens to be times where I press the envelope and rebel a little bit with office dress code and waver the lines between a girl who works and a “working girl” usually resulting in extreme sideeye from my boss. Today though I restrained a bit and kept it a bit more covered up then my mood normally would allow with layers and an attempt at something new for me.

Ok maybe part of this is because aside from my tude today I also really need to do some laundry so I was working with what I had in regard to tights and leggings, but it made me think outside the box a bit more and I like the results. I have seen a few ladies in the blogsphere like my girls Beth and Sarah take bright colored tights and put lace leggings over the top of them and it came out totally cute but since I am not feeling super bright and cheery today I decided to try the look in a different way. I actually did this by taking my grey B&Lu leggings that I love and are oh so incredibly comfortable and then added a pair of black circle texutred tights over the top of them. I like the way it came out and it actually looks like one really cool pair of tights, and this should keep the working girl sideeye from the boss man at bay. I knew I wanted to keep the colors for this look really dark so I went with my comfortable and flattering go -to LBD that I got at Torrid years ago. This dress is sleeveless so to keep my arms warm in our rainy weather I added one of my favorite cardi’s, The Bellini, from SWAK, removed the sash tie and wore it open for the waterfall effect. If you have noticed I have just been sticking to my simple diamond studs lately because one of my piercings started to close up oddly and then started to hurt so I have been trying to just  treat it and let it heal.  Since I couldn’t really funk it up with earrings I decided it was a good day to wear Owen The Owl.  For shoes I picked my chunky booties that were gifted to me from Torrid. They sit higher up on the ankle and were perfect for hiding wear the leggings end and achieving the look I was going for.

I am glad that I could make it work despite my mood and honestly am already feeling better!  Do you let your mood effect your clothing choices? What are you wearing today?

xoxo
