What I Wore (Recycled): “You Shoot Me Down, But I Won’t Fall”

Be Social!

Hey Friends!

Hope everyone is having a fantabulous day! Today we celebrated Nightrider’s Birthday-Happy Birthday My Love- and spent the day having some fun and enjoying some insanely nice weather! What a great gift huh?

I wasn’t planning on doing an outfit post today because not only is this an incredibly casual look, but all of the items I am wearing have been seen before on the blog. I decided though that I was feeling pretty great in this look and should share anyway. This  is a typical Spring/Summer look that I could easily been caught in any day of the week.  I’ve let go of a few old rules and have been marching to my own beat when it comes to my style and its been really delightful breaking the rules and being true to myself.  While I know some girls think flip-flops are a big no-no and unsuitable for anything but the beach, I really don’t care  and practically live in them in the summer months. Sometimes you just gotta remember that  it’s not only about how you look but also about finding comfort in your clothing  that will help you get through your day leaving a smile on your face which in my opinion is always in style!

What I Wore: “Hit The Right Spot, Making My Eyes Roll Back”

Hey Friends!

UPDATE 4/2/13: This sweater has been restocked and is now available to purchase here!

Hope everyone is having an awesome week. I have been so super busy as it is Spring Break here and all the kids are out of school, plus the sun has been out so obviously all I wanna do is get out and play play play!

Yesterday I had a hair appointment and the fresh cut and color had me feeling all sorts of fabulous this morning so I knew I wanted to put on something post worthy and do a long-awaited outfit post! Last week I received a package from my friends at Wet Seal with some awesome items for me to review from their Jr. Plus line. I can honestly say this is the first time in a while that I have not only loved everything a company has sent me but also that everything fit like a dream and was completely my aesthetic  Seriously I feel like lately I am literally reverting back in age when it comes to the way I look and my personal style. I may just be 16 again so pieces from a junior line was certainly right up my alley!

Included in my review package was this edgy and fantastic rhinestone skull sweater that is EVERYTHING. Unfortunately the sweater is all sold out so I can’t link to it on the site but honestly so many of the items they have are edgy, fun, inexpensive and totally a good fit not only for juniors but also for curvy adult women who love fun clothes! For real I am a size 22 and got a 3X in all of the items they sent me and they all fit awesome.  This sweater is such a fun piece and I love the rhinestone detail dispersed throughout the skull to not make it overwhelmingly sparkly but just enough for that extra touch. The sweater is also lightweight and really soft and comfortable making it perfect for Spring. The length is also great and the neckline is nice and wide which I really dig. Overall a great piece!

In this look I also rocked the awesome lace effect sunnies my bff brought me back from a trip last week. I have referred to them as my Geriatric Lacey Realness shades because they totally remind me of old lady dilation glasses but with an extra fierceness that made me love them and wear them. Thanks Jami for knowing how much I love me some gas station sunglasses that make me feel very Gagaesque with a touch of Golden Girl. Ha!

What I Wore: “Love & Marriage”

Be Social!

Hey Curvy Chicks!

Over the weekend my friend Jami asked me to be her date for a wedding while our girlfriends were out of town together on a “dude trip”. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE weddings and of course agreed to go and decided it would be the perfect occasion to wear this beautiful dress that was gifted to me from K.SY+.  The day prior I had gotten my hair recolored and cut and was totally feeling a little pinup style already with the return of my pompadour and knew it was also the perfect dress to play up some retro  style. Check out what I wore:

Pearl Stud Earrings: Torrid/Vintage Malibu Polka Dot Dress: K.SY+ (Gifted)/White Peep Toe Wedges: American Eagle For Payless

I was instantly attracted to the Vintage Malibu Polka Dot Dress from K.SY+ when I saw it on the site. I love a party dress and a retro styled one at that always catches my attention. The beautiful bright baby blue (feels a bit turquoise to me) coloring made this dress feel a little extra special and was a color that I knew would add to the piece and make me stand out a bit in it as well. I was pleasantly surprised when this dress came in the mail and was a lovely satin fabric and made with quality and care. I received this dress in a size 3x based on the size chart and it fit great almost everywhere but was a little off in the bust when it came to the button closure. It has a stretch back and  when buttoned caused a little bit of gaping in between the buttons but was easily remedied with 2 tiny safety pins. This was a quick and easy fix and is well worth it for a such a head turning garment. This dress is so easy, comfortable and stylish and was definitely a crowd pleaser that had me on the receiving end of compliments all day long. This dress was perfect for the beautiful wedding we attended but would also be something I would love to wear to a garden party, or cocktail function whenever I am feeling bright, bold and a little old school. For my first taste of K.SY+ I have to say I am impressed and cant wait to see more in the future. I highly recommend all curvy girls check them out!

What have your worn lately that turned heads and made you feel fabulous?

What I Wore: “Jungle Love It’s Drivin Me Mad”

Be Social!

Hey Curvy Chicks!

I know long time, no outfit post. Excuses are lame but in all honesty June is a really hard month for me (I will elaborate on this on Thursday probably). Anyways I have 3 outfit posts prepared for this week as well so hopefully that will change things up around here :)

For today’s post I knew I wanted to feature and review the new maxi dress I received from Igigi this month from their Voyage Exotique Collection which I wrote about here. The Naime Maxi Dress is so fantastic I was instantly drawn to it and was absolutely ecstatic when it was sent my way for review!

Gold Hoop Earrings: Fuego/Naime Maxi Dress: IGIGI (Gifted)/Black Peep Toe Wedges: Torrid (Gifted)

You all know me, I CAN’T resist an animal print and this striped print was calling my name. I also have been venturing into maxi dresses more and more this summer and when I saw this piece on the site I knew it would be great for an easy glam and fiesty look. I felt like a million bucks in this dress and honestly loved almost everything about it. The only negative was that it was a bit long on me but then again I am only 5’4″ and that is what tailors are for right? I will be shortening this dress so I am able to wear it comfortably with flats since heels haven’t really been my thing lately. However this dress worked just fine with sky high torrid wedges that were just the right color scheme for this look. I received my dress in a size 18/20 per the size charts and it fit amazingly perfect. I have been having a hard time with my bust size lately but this dress was a complete score in the boobie area as it fits ideally! The fabric on this dress and the quality of the design is exactly what I expect from IGIGI and that is flawless! They have nailed it again making a beautiful dress with rich fabrics and a quality that can’t be matched. This dress came with an extra black sash and I used it to elongate the black top of the dress because I have a really long torso. The sash allowed me to customize the appearance of the fit to flatter my curves specifically which I really appreciated and think makes this dress great for all types of curvy figure flattering with or without the sash. Options people options! :) Overall this dress is fantastic and I love everything about it from the thick straps that work with a bra, the flowing lined skirt and of course the fabric and color choices that made me feel like a Glamazon Queen Of The Jungle!

What do you think of this dress? What are you wearing today?

What I Wore: “Somebody That I Used To Know”

Be Social!

Hey Curvy Chicks!

Over the last almost 3 years of blogging here at Stiletto Siren: A Life & Style Blog with Curves I have done a complete style 180 due to lifestyle changes. I have gone from donning dresses and heels on a daily basis proving that I know how to rock some work wear to now working from home and allowing my style to become more relaxed, as well as more true to my rock n roll lovin, edgy self while having no one to answer to but myself. I have really found a happy place of wearing things based on nothing more then the fact that I simply LOVE THE STYLE!  When I saw the dress from today’s look on the IGIGI site I knew that while it was a bit closer  to my conservative style of yesteryear it had some details that made me completely 100% positive that it was something that still felt like my style in the here and now and that it HAD TO BE MINE!

Armani Exchange Sunnies: Nordstrom’s Rack (Gifted)/Large Pink Stud Earrings: Lushae Jewelry (Gifted)/Sonia Dress in Merlot: IGIGI (Gifted)/Grey Dollhouse Heels with Studded Flower: Ross

I instantly fell in love with The Sonia Dress in Merlot when I came across it on the IGIGI site due to in large part the fabulous print on the sleeves. It’s a great floral when you get close but from a distance it also looks like it might be jeweled which I think makes it fantastic all the more. I also was so enamored with the color choices of the deep Merlot and the pops of fuschia, purples and greys on the sleeve and knew it would be such a fun piece to showcase with my pink locks.  When the dress was sent to me by my lovely friends at IGIGI I came across even more reasons to fall in some serious love with this piece from the wider v-neck that honesty fit “the girls” in a fierce way and the fantastic rouching on the booty that helped me showcase one of my favorite assets! I also found myself super impressed with the double layering on the flutter sleeves that was very flattering and comfortable on my arms, and the lovely length that was stylish but also made this dress something I could work if I had an important meeting and needed to be slightly conservative. This dress sent to me in a size 18/20 based on my bust size on the size charts also fit me perfectly and was extremely comfortable as well. My only qualm with this dress is honestly that it doesn’t play well with my muffin top but that’s really something that some shapewear could easily take care of.  Overall the Sonia Dress in Merlot is another slammin IGIGI piece that fits perfectly in my wardrobe and my life.
