My Life, My Style With IGIGI- My Funny Valentine

Be Social!

Since I was sick and had class on Valentine’s Day, Nightrider and I had to celebrate our love in our typical fashion which is celebrating any day as if it were Valentine’s Day. I love her not just one day a year but all 365 if you can imagine and we frequently do nice things for one and other and have special dates. On the day itself she gave me my goody bag in bed which was fully of candy flowers, a stuffed animal and a raincheck for a night out when I was feeling better. We ended up cashing in that raincheck over this last weekend which means that I finally got to wear my dress that I had chosen specifically for a Valentine’s day date.  Getting glammed up and hitting the town with my love or for an event is a big part of my lifestyle so when My Life, My Style with IGIGI began I knew that one of the pieces I needed for my mini IGIGI wardrobe was a great glammy dress.

Cybelle Cocktail Dress: IGIGI (Gifted)/ Tights: Torrid/Shoes: Dollhouse/Earrings: Torrid (Gifted)

I realize I am showing a bit of a trend in a love for purple but I swear this is it for that color for this series. I knew that for my Valentine’s Day look this year I wanted to go with a nonred dress and Orchid seemed like the next natural choice for me.  I picked the Cybelle Cocktail dress because it was classy, a bit fancy and I really love the shape of it. I got it in a size 20 which fit just right and very true to size. This dress comes with removeable thick straps which I chose to remove for this look to show a bit more skin and amp up the romance a bit. It fits wonderfully though either with or without staps and is incredibly comfortable too.  The material is a stretch tafeta which is a nice quality and the princess seams throughout keep it feminine and well made. The origami pleating on the bodice meeting with the highwaisted knee length skirt is very figure flattering and hugs the curves nicely. I will admit it was a little revealing of my muffin top and in the future I might consider wearing shapewear but considering I was with the person who loves me most, every inch of me, it was perfect just as it was.  Overall this dress was perfect for the occassion and was a great fit and great quality. It is not the edgiest of pieces but it worked for a classic look which is what I was going for that night. This dress would also be a great consideration for a simple bridesmaid dress for anyone with a wedding coming up and curvy bridesmaids. It is a nice price point  and is something the ladies could use again for other dress up occasions. In this look I paired the Cybelle Cocktail dress with my thick Torrid tights and my taupe Dollhouse pumps. I played off the shine of the dress and the sparkle of my shoe detail with my dangly gifted earrings from Torrid and kept the look very simple but classic and chic.

Check out everyting IGIGI has to offer and keep a look out next week for the Weekend Chic installment of My Life, My Style With IGIGI!

I took a spin around PlusSize-Dresses.com in search of  some dresses for the office and for the holiday party season that would be within my budget and had some luck!

I love this Waterfall Side Jeresey Dress and could easily wear this little purple number to the office and then out for a holiday cocktail with the girls! Pair it with some thick tights booties and some chunky jewelry and I would feel fab!

What is better then a Little Black Red Dress for your Holiday festivities? This Ponti Roma Dress paired with a black sequined corset belt and some killer pumps would be great for a Holiday party and then could be used again for a great date dress!

Drool-Worthy Dress Of The Day Premium Large Rose Satin Dress

Be Social!

Today’s DWD is the Premium Large Rose Satin Dress from ASOS Curve

OMG this dress is LOVE! The brilliant “berry red” looks more like a jewel tone purple to me color, the assymetrical neck line with the brilliant chiffon and satin rose corsage, the pleated detail in the bust it is all so amazing and beautiful! This premium satin finish dress is really everything a girl could ask for this holiday season and would look stunning on any curvy beauty at any type of semi formal event. The draping across the hips will look lovely on a full body and will accentuate the smallest part of the waist perfectly.

Someone please send this dress my way, I’ll be your best friend!

"Purple Haze All In My Eyes, Don't Know If It's Day Or Night " Review Of Figuresque

Be Social!

While I do love all of the beautiful dresses and all things sparkly I get sent for review I have to say that the pieces I get most excited about finding in a package are basics and everyday type pieces. I love pieces to incorportate into casual looks either for days where I’m feeling a bit lowkey or when my day calls for something without so many bells and whistles. Today’s review piece from my awesome preffered retailer Figuresque is just one of those great pieces that love for being wearable for the everyday!

I absolutely love this purple and black top and vest set from Figuresque and think that it is the perfect casual piece to add to my wardrobe.  It is extremely comfortable and well fitted true to size in a 3x.  It is a attached two in one piece so it cannot work as spearates but with the fall weather coming it is perfect to keep you warm but not too warm on chilly days. I love the rutched 3/4 inch sleeves on the black top  and the waterfall hem. The purple under layer is a great scoopneck and a nice vibrant color to make the top pop. This piece also comes with a black studded corset belt that gives it a little something extra and hits perfectly in the waist to show your shape. I shot this look both with the belt and without the belt showing the versatility of the top for either a more structured belted look or a looser more casual open feel. I paired this top with my torrid denim colored leggins and my American Eagle pointy toe flatties. When wearing this top without the belt I made the look a bit more interesting with my Torrid Owl Necklace. Overall this is a great top for a casual fall look!

Figuresque has so much awesome new inventory in right now, make sure you check out everything they have to offer. Also don’t miss a thing by following Figuresque on Facebook and Twitter, tell them Stiletto sent ya!

You Know, I Mighta Been Born Just Plain White Trash, But Fancy Was My Name"

Be Social!

Hope everyone had a great weekend whether you were celebrating the fourth or just living your life. I had a nice weekend with Nightrider where we relaxed hid from the world and enjoyed ourselves it was nice. We did manage to see Eclipse since I am a bit of a twitard, and we totally learned how to kill men and get away with it by watching way too much lifetime. Saturday morning I did get a bit of work done though, when I got up at the butt crack of dawn for a photo shoot with Candace. We only shot 4 outfits this week since I took yesterday off and since we had some extra time we trekked out-of-town about 30 minutes to the teeny tiny town of Notus, Idaho. Candace had been out that direction picking up a great craigslist find and saw some places of interest she thought would be fun to shoot so we trekked out there and made a spectacle of ourselves.

Lessons Learned In Notus-

1. Farm Folk get up early. We are totally used to empty streets without many on looker which is perfect for sporadic outdoor changing. No so luck this week.

2. If you shoot on private property you will see an old lady in a mumu stomp out and tell you to get the hell off or she will get her shotgun

3. Fair day (which it just so happened to be) in Notus requires a good street cleaning (you know hosing it down)

4. They aint never seen no “real model” let alone a plus size one

5. Staring isnt impolite in Notus, since I experienced plenty of it from kids peeking around corners to old couples staring and waving from their windows.

and 6. No better way then to create a buzz in a small town then to strip from fashionable outfit to fashionable outfit while letting your bright red panties be seen by all. I really have no shame.

Needless to say we of course had a great time, probably generated some bad karma but did manage to have a great laugh and get some good shots!

This first outfit was shot outside the abandoned gas station and Ralphs Woolery which is apparently part of private property says its mumu wearing owner. If she only knew the ways I could teach her to rock that mumu we could have had a moment I’m sure.

This purple beach dress is one of my newest purchased from ASOS Curve. I bought it for its intended purpose to work as a beach dress or bathing suit cover up but I am far too much in love with it to not make it work for other occasions as well. Since it has such an interesting detail on the back it really would work best with a halter top bathing suit but I decided to wear my thrifted black tee underneath to cover it up a bit. I absolutely love this dress though, it is really the perfect purple and is made from a wonderful linen and it has great back and button detail and POCKETS, which you all know is a huge selling point for me! To take the look up a notch and have it not be too casual I paired it with my ASOS mesh insert leggings and my gifted black strappy heels and I really love the look I accomplished. I think it looks comfortable with a bit of edge and I think it looks great.
