What I Wore: “Squeeze Her, Don’t Tease Her, Never Leave Her”

Hey Curvy Chicks!

It’s been forever but I am finally ready to go with an actual outfit of the day! Yesterday I received a couple of packages in the mail I had been waiting on with some new styles that are really speaking to me and I was so excited to get dressed this morning. One of the packages was full of gifts from my friends at SimplyBe and I thought today was the perfect day to bust out on of the new items that I am LOVIN! Today Nightrider and I had a bunch of errands to run and with it being such a windy and yuck day out I needed something comfortable but still bright and cheery to bring out my spirit on an otherwise dreary day. A hat was also a must today cause there was not enough hairspray in the world to combat this wind. Check out what I ended up with!

Black Fedora: Rue21/Angel Ribbons Yellow Star Top: SimplyBe (Gifted)/Black Leggings: Torrid/Studded Flats: Ross

When I opened the package containing this crazy/lovely bright yellow top I was initially a bit afraid of its loud nature and especially how it would go with my new hair color but once I put it on I was absolutely in L-O-V-E. It is actually a really beautiful small scale star print on the bright yellow slightly sheer top and has enough sass in it’s elements to make me feel completely at home rockin this style. The sleeves are actually long and but as you have probably noticed if you have followed me for a while I can’t ever seem to resist pushing up my sleeves and have done so with this tops elastic cuffs as well. This top has a great exposed zipper that runs the whole length of the top making it perfect to wear open or closed (yay for more versatility!) and adds an edgy quality to the bright top making it perfection in my eyes.  I received this top in a size 22 US and it fits perfectly with nice room around the waist and hips, not to mention the dipped hem in the back the covers my hiney just right. I received probably a dozen compliments on this top today as well which makes me totally happy and overall this top is slammin and will probably become a new favorite piece to dress up or dress down

In this look I kept it really simple for a casual day but with a few special details that made it not just an outfit but a whole look. I added the fedora for weather purposes but also because I felt like it gave the overall look a bit of a late 80s early 90s hipster vibe that I couldn’t resist. I kept my comfort in check with my Torrid leggings (seriously a staple in my life) and sassed it up a extra notch with my pointed toe studded flats that are perfect for running around while still looking like one cool chick!

Since this look felt a little Duckie (from Pretty In Pink)  to me for some reason I decided to also share one of my favorite movie moments ever to remind everyone to march to the beat of your own style drum and to also Try A Little Tenderness!

What are you wearing today?

xoxo
