What I Wore: “Jungle Love It’s Drivin Me Mad”

Be Social!

Hey Curvy Chicks!

I know long time, no outfit post. Excuses are lame but in all honesty June is a really hard month for me (I will elaborate on this on Thursday probably). Anyways I have 3 outfit posts prepared for this week as well so hopefully that will change things up around here :)

For today’s post I knew I wanted to feature and review the new maxi dress I received from Igigi this month from their Voyage Exotique Collection which I wrote about here. The Naime Maxi Dress is so fantastic I was instantly drawn to it and was absolutely ecstatic when it was sent my way for review!

Gold Hoop Earrings: Fuego/Naime Maxi Dress: IGIGI (Gifted)/Black Peep Toe Wedges: Torrid (Gifted)

You all know me, I CAN’T resist an animal print and this striped print was calling my name. I also have been venturing into maxi dresses more and more this summer and when I saw this piece on the site I knew it would be great for an easy glam and fiesty look. I felt like a million bucks in this dress and honestly loved almost everything about it. The only negative was that it was a bit long on me but then again I am only 5’4″ and that is what tailors are for right? I will be shortening this dress so I am able to wear it comfortably with flats since heels haven’t really been my thing lately. However this dress worked just fine with sky high torrid wedges that were just the right color scheme for this look. I received my dress in a size 18/20 per the size charts and it fit amazingly perfect. I have been having a hard time with my bust size lately but this dress was a complete score in the boobie area as it fits ideally! The fabric on this dress and the quality of the design is exactly what I expect from IGIGI and that is flawless! They have nailed it again making a beautiful dress with rich fabrics and a quality that can’t be matched. This dress came with an extra black sash and I used it to elongate the black top of the dress because I have a really long torso. The sash allowed me to customize the appearance of the fit to flatter my curves specifically which I really appreciated and think makes this dress great for all types of curvy figure flattering with or without the sash. Options people options! :) Overall this dress is fantastic and I love everything about it from the thick straps that work with a bra, the flowing lined skirt and of course the fabric and color choices that made me feel like a Glamazon Queen Of The Jungle!

What do you think of this dress? What are you wearing today?

What I Wore: “Let The Sun Illuminate The Words That You Could Not Find”

Be Social!

Hey Curvy Chicks!

Yesterday we had some absolutely beautiful weather and I took the opportunity to shoot some of my outfits I’ve planned for this week out in the sunshine! I had an awesome weekend spending sometime with some good friends, getting my hair cut, partying it up a bit and relaxing in front of the boob tube. Also did a little work on the house this weekend which included mostly laundry and cleaning for me while Nightrider installed a new dishwasher (SHE IS SO AWESOME). It was an wonderful weekend and has me feeling rejuvenated for the week! I knew I wanted to start infusing some of my more Spring related pieces this week and bring some color back into my wardrobe that has been mostly blacks and greys this winter and figured what better time then to bust out my Tangerine blazer sent to me by my lovely friends at Very.com!

White Burnout Tee: Torrid/Jeans: B&Lu(Gifted)/Wedges: Torrid (Gifted)

What are you wearing today? How was your weekend and how are you spending your Monday?

Sometimes when I am lyric titling my outfit posts I simply can’t resist sharing the song with you all, enjoy!

“A Twist In My Story” Review Of Figuresque

Be Social!

Hey Curvy Chicks!

I know its been over a week since I did an outfit post but I am working on pulling out some new pieces and getting my fall style plan in check! Today I am basically just running around to school and to the grocery store and I wanted to be comfortable cute and weather appropriate as its chilled down a bit here, YAY FOR LAYERS! I decided today was the perfect day to pull out one of the new goodies sent to me by my lovely friends at Figuresque!

Kaftan: City Chic/Diva Convertible Dress (as a tunic): Figuresque (Gifted)/Jeggings: Torrid/Wedges: Torrid (Gifted)/Necklace: Rue21

I love a great versatile piece in my wardrobe that I can wear a million different ways so ofcourse I was very pleased to add another convertible dress to my wardrobe. Figuresque sent me their Diva Convertible Dress in a lovely mocha color perfect for fall and I knew I wanted to wear it throughout the fall season in a few different ways beginning with a casual tunic style to ease into the fall coloring and to pair it with a few of my favorites items from my closet.  I recieved my Diva Convertible Dress in a size 3x and its a great fit with lots of room to tie the straps in a variety of ways. The waistline fits my curves just rigt and the skirt of the dress is a nice loose fit that is attractive and camoflauges my muffin top. I love the slinky material that makes this $35 dress feel rich and lush and the color of the fabric is beautiful!  The only thing I would change about this dress is that the back of the skirt has a visable seam that keeps me from being able to twist it around backwards for even more compatible ways of wearing it, but it still is a great piece none the less.  In today’s look I wore the Diva Convertible Dress as a tunic with the waistline above my chest and the straps criss crossed in the back and then tied in a rope fashion in the front. I paired it with my favorite Torrid jeggings that are oh so worn and comfy, and my Animal Print  Kaftan from City Chic. To top it off I added my 5 inch Torrid peeptoe wedges and a great feathered necklace I picked up at Rue21.

What are you wearing today?

“Every nickel, dime, quarter, dollar, five, ten, twenty”

Be Social!

It has been a crazy week so far. I started back at school, made some last minute class changes that have me loving my full time course load (creative writing for the win!) and have been busting my tush with homework and getting things under control.  It feels great! I also have begun the process of getting ready for Full Figured Fashion Week(tm) next week and it seems like there is so much to do and not enough time to do it all. Today though Nightrider and I took a break from homework to run a couple errands and decided to play at the park a bit and take some outfit photos!

Fedora: Chinese Laundry/Earrings: Torrid/Sunglasses: Betsey Johnson/Boyfriend Cardigan:Sealed With A Kiss Designs (Gifted)/

Top: City Chic/Shorts: City Chic/Shoes: Torrid (Gifted)

I am going to write more about this tomorrow but I am having this weird style transition right now, and it has me trying some new looks and this happens to be one of them. It is starting to warm up and for me that means it time to bust out the short shorts and I absolutley love these Clean Denim Shorts I bought during the 50% off sale at City Chic. I got them in a size 22 and they are a perfect fit with a bit of stretch and some nice structure that I really dig. I wore them camping last weekend and am now wearing them again today and I must say I am in love.  I got this zip front slightly tribal looking green and black tank top during the City Chic sale as well and it  is super comfortable in a XL and isn’t the back of it to die for? Since it is still a bit windy I added my favorite boyfriend cardigan from SWAK to my look. To give it all a bit more of a put together look I added my fedora from Chinese Laundry, my Torrid wing earrings and my go to Torrid wedges to complete the look.  It is summer which means I am living in my sunglasses and right now my top choice for most looks is these Betsey Johnson shades. Overall I love the way I feel and look today in this look!

“Painted On Me With Such Intention”

Be Social!

TGIF! This week has been so long and just not that much fun, aside from all the shopping :) I can’t wait for the weekend with plans to go to the Elton John concert with my parents and Nightrider on Saturday night, hmm I dont know what I will wear but im sure there will be some Eltonesque “Sparkle” involved! I also am planning on seeing some sunshine this weekend with highs in the 50s and supposedly fairly sunny skies. I really want to go to a baseball field and play some kickball this weekend with the kids for our Saturday family activity too! Should be an awesome weekend! Today I needed to feel a bit sassy for the work day and decided to again rock some floral tap shorts, even with tights they still make me feel Springy and that is key!

Earrings: Torrid (gifted)/Top: City Chic/Tap Shorts: Torrid/Tights: Target/Wedges: Torrid/

Lipstick: Maybeline Colorsensational “Red Revival” with a bit of Bare Essentials Buxom Lips in Celeste for extra sparkle

I have worn all of these pieces before but sometimes its all  about mixing and matching in new ways. I think I shot these Torrid floral tap shorts last summer with bare legs and a white tank. Today I wanted to play them up with a bit more drama with my puff sleeve top I picked up in the 60% off City Chic sale. This top always makes me feel extra fierce and I love it! I added thick Target tights I got on clearance to stay warm and to add more to this dark black and red look. For Shoes I went with my Torrid faux lace up, peep toe wedges. Theay are actually really comfortable, nice and tall and I can’t wait to wear them more this Spring with bare legs so you can see the cut out areas. I didn’t want to distract from the high waist on the shorts so I kept my top tucked in and decided to not include a necklace but to throw on some dangly earrings that were given to my by Torrid. For the final touch I went with smoky eyes and red lips that made me feel super sassy and dramatic!

What are you wearing to welcome the weekend this Friday?
